One Thriving World at Georgetown University

By Aurmin Amirmokri, Nutrition Programs Lead

This week, we had the privilege of presenting the Healthy Heroes Challenge to the Georgetown University ASA. While sharing our mission with fellow students is always meaningful, this visit marked a significant step forward in how One Thriving World connects with higher education institutions to drive change.

A major highlight of our discussion was announcing a new milestone for our non-profit: One Thriving World has officially been approved as a supplier at Georgetown University. Being an approved supplier allows us to streamline our operations within the university system, making it easier to host fundraising events, collaborate on educational initiatives, and utilize university resources to support our cause.

Our collaboration with Georgetown is just the beginning of a broader vision for the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area. We see the university ecosystem as a powerful engine for public health advocacy. We are developing plans to connect with other student organizations from universities such as University of Maryland and George Washington University, and are currently working to build a coalition of students across the region.

We are grateful to the Georgetown ASA for welcoming us and for their enthusiasm in joining us on this journey. We look forward to hosting future events together and continuing to connect with students who are eager to contribute their time, ideas, and energy toward meaningful change.

If you are part of a university organization in the DMV and want to get involved, we would love to connect. Please feel free to reach out to us at onethrivingworld@gmail.com.
